An assignment from my layout & typography class.
What we had to do: Create a display ad for a made-up product suitable for a magazine of your choosing. We also had to write an editorial and create a "service" classified ad. The display ad could only use text, though it could be distorted beyond recognition.
What I Did: A video card ad, a Windows vs Linux editorial, and a computer mod classified. I did the display ad in Photoshop 7 and the other stuff in Indesign CS.
Other stuff is not posted, but can be if there are enough requests...
